Wake Up Folks
Wake up folks, see how easy it is to interface to a Conveylinx card from any type of conveyor equipment. As I’m sure you may have figured out, our ConveyLinx card is the most flexible ZPA motor roller card in the industry. There are so many great options that sometimes I just can’t contain myself and have to write about them.
If you have gravity, belt, or any other conventional conveyor types feeding onto a motor roller zone using Conveylinx it’s quite easy to wake up and turn on that very first zone. No configuration or software of any type is required, you just plug it into the “upstream control port” of the very first card in the system. The easiest way to do this “wake-up” is to physically mount a photo-eye at the discharge of the existing conveyor type. The photo-eye should have the RJ12 connector with the sensor’s output connected to pin 4 and plugged into the upstream zone of the first ConveyLinx card. Now when a box or tote passes in front of the existing discharge photo-eye it will activate and start the first motor roller zone of the system as long as it’s ready to receive a product.
Watch out, don’t make the mistake of using a “wake-up” sensor with a health or gain signal connected to the control port. A health signal will accumulate the first zone of the MDR system making you a very unhappy and confused person. Typically the health/gain output of a zone present sensor is on pin 3 of the RJ12 which just happens to be the “Accumulate” input on ConveyLinx’s control port.
Some other ways to wake up a zone is to use a PLC output or motor running signal connected to the same pin 4. You can also connect a PLC via Ethernet and use the “wake-up” register that is located in the developers guide. See below for a quick pin out of the Control port which can also be found in the ConveyLinx user guide on Page 22.

If you don’t want to have to worry about the pin out then just purchase our (IN-PE-FL-1 - “wake-up/lane full”) special sensor that is just like our standard zones sensors except we’ve disconnected the health signal for you to ensure the first zone doesn’t accumulate.
Have questions? Want to know more about the wake up or lane full then send me some questions via email or via phone and I’d be happy to answer them! Until next time make sure to wake-up and convey on to the very best product for ZPA in the world!
